A: There are a ton of different factors that play into this question and answer. Truthfully, your son will need to set up a confidential consultation with a lawyer to answer this question. Some different factors that play into this situation are when the search occurred during the stop, if your son gave permission, if the car was towed and/or if the officer had probable cause to search the car. Each situation is different, which is why I cannot provide a better answer. However, most of the time police search a car during a DUI arrest, they do so legally. Feel free to contact us directly so we can speak more about this specific situation. Zach@Divellaw.com 480-935-6545
