Dorchester Center, MA asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Massachusetts

Q: My daughter, Age 5, was taken from me in November of 2015. I was granted a suspended judgement which is almost expired

I have fulfilled all of the obligations required of Me by the court, including remaining clean and sober and I will have two years clean on February 9th. My suspended judgement is set to expire at the end of January and the therapeutic visit monitor told me that she will be recommending permanency with the foster parents. I don't understand how this can be considering I've changed my entire life around and I have not violated the suspended judgement.

A: This sounds like a complex matter which you should pursue through counsel and not try to handle pro se. If you do not have funds to engage an attorney to represent you, you may qualify for appointed counsel to represent you in contesting the guardianship You would need to file a Motion requesting appointment of counsel on your behalf due to indigency in the court involved.
