Q: I was told to bring $500 to my next hearing for child support but the money I was relying on, was taking from the state
That $500 I was supposed to pay was supposed to stop me from being sent to jail. On top of paying child support, my son's mother filed a contempt charge and she has stopped letting me see my son, she hasn't allowed me to see him since August of 2018. I'm wondering on what I should do
A: Was the State taking the moneys for arrears in child support? Or did you owe the state otherwise? If it was not taken for child support , you will need to obtain the money from family or friends or you will be taken into custody/jail as the Court has made a finding that you can pay the support. If you are not seeing your child only because of mother's withholding visits due to your non-support, this is not acceptable and you can file your Contempt Complaint if she has violated a Court Order, but you have not stated that there are orders. You may need to file an appropriate complaint to obtain visitation. You have not stated whether you were married or not . You may need to file a Modification if there were orders that are no longer usable or applicable.
