Asked in Adoption, Child Custody and Family Law for Texas

Q: my sister passed away 2/5 and left behind 4 beautiful children. i would like to obtain legal guardianship.

there are three dads whom are not on the birth certificates. They are not mentally, financially nor residence stable. they are not on the birth certificates and not actually proven to be the fathers by blood work. they never paid child support. they would come around once a blue moon but not financially support where needed. my mom is currently caring for them and had been prior to the passing of my passing sister. We have all the records to prove my mom have cared for them to include my deceased sister for years which includes medical, home and more. my mom is willing to allow me to care for all the kids ranging from 6-13. I have the space with a 6 bedroom home. i'm financially stable with a husband who is willing to also help me care for the kids. the kids have repeatedly stated they want to stay with me. They also stated the men who came around claiming to be father have been mentally and physically abusive to both my sister and the kids. need help please legal guardianship

A: First of all sorry for your recent loss of your sister. What a wonderful thing to see families taking care of their own. Your mother has standing to petition the court to deal with these issues. Let us know if you would like our assistance. 888-343-4529.
