Phoenix, AZ asked in Immigration Law for Arizona

Q: Would an old exclusion order prevent me from getting TSA pre flight and/or a passport?

I received an exclusion order from Canada on 7/09/14. A company I was working for asked if myself and several others could go up to Canada to help a work crew and that everything was taken care of. Upon arrival at the border we were told we couldn't enter due to the fact we didn't have permits to work in Canada which we thought our company had taken care of and were told we were going to simply be turned around to apply for them. Upon being asked about drugs one of our fellow riders announced he had marijuana on him... Upon this announcement it was eventually decided he would receive a permanent ban. Myself and the rest would get a 1 yr exclusion order.

So my ultimate question is, would I be denied a TSA Pre flight and/or have issues getting a Passport. Through my current work I have background checks done on frequent basis to gain access to gov facilities etc. And have obtained permits that require intense background screening and no criminal record.

A: It won’t prevent you from getting a passport. It shouldn’t prevent you from getting TSA Preflight. There was no conviction.
