San Ramon, CA asked in Car Accidents and Personal Injury for California

Q: i had a lawyer for my personal injury since 2016 they have done nothing to make a effort in keeping in conact with me

when i have asked them to push cause i have been done waiting about this case after a year had went by they didnt want to do anything they wanted to sit and wait. if i had tried to call them they would take a message and it would be months before i have a response. now that i am in 2019 and mind you the case is still going on this lawyer has now gave me the "client" a ultimatum on "shut up and take this money" or "we are done with you" when a offer was made and i didnt want to take that cause after almost 3 years that amount was not worth all this "effort" i had put in. i need advice on how i should handle this cause looking into the lawyer that i went to i dont trust how they run their practice.

A: You can look around for a lawyer to take over your case. The lawyers will share the fees, which may make it hard for you to find a lawyer to take over. Usually, personal injury attorneys do not charge for a case evaluation, so it may be worth your time and effort to make some calls.

A: much more info needed.

how much have you been offered?

how much were the damages to car and to you?

how long did you treat?

was it an md or chiro?

what court are you in?

if another lawyer takes over the case they will by law split the fees with the first lawyer.

however, unless the case is big enough they may not be willing to fight with the ins co and then with each other.

email me inof : dale@dalegribowlaw.com and maybe i can help you find a lawyer?

A: You could consult with other attorneys, but as pointed out, it could sometimes be difficult for one firm to be eager about transitioning a case from another.
