A: This is a very broad question, and without sufficient details to give a precise answer. Such things one needs to know is in what jurisdiction are you filing? What is the Fair market value of the house vs the outstanding balance owed on same? Without answering or knowing those items, very difficult to answer.

A: In a Chapter 7, you retain all of your address which are covered under a broad list of bankruptcy exemptions. These exemptions vary from state to state but generally cover, to varying degrees, household goods, motor vehicle, equity in your home, retirement accounts, etc. This is why hiring an experienced and careful attorney is essential. That person needs to thoroughly review all of your property to determine what's safe and what may be at risk. You should meet with a qualified bankruptcy attorney in your state

A: Depends on many factors, such as equity, value of property, debt, etc. Best to contact a bankruptcy lawyer and let him tell you your options.
