Q: How to set up a touring company in another country?
Hi, I am trying to start a touring company in Jamaica with my brother. He will be responsible for hiring and securing proper licensing and management of drivers in Jamaica, (already hired one) and I will be in Florida, running the business, banking and marketing end. What would be the best way to structure this business? Should it be an American LLC or a Jamaican corp? Please help.

The main difference between successful small businesses and those that fail within a relatively short period of time is good legal advice. The owners of most successful small businesses understand that retaining a competent experienced business lawyer and paying modest legal fees to advise them--from day one—may end up saving them thousands of dollars later when they must fix unnecessary disasters that could have been avoided. Hiring a good business lawyer and then calling upon them to help you avoid the many minefields beats asking strangers for free business advice on Justia. Try it and see.
