Evansville, IN asked in Family Law, Child Custody and Domestic Violence for Kentucky

Q: What would my best course of action be? I signed a temporary guardianship of my daughter, a year ago, to my Mother.

Ive been consistently involved in her life the duration of this guardianship. I however, married and was convicted of a domestic battery misdemeanor, because my Husband and I are choosing to do counseling, etc. to recover our marriage.. (My mother doesn't approve) She has now blocked all communication with me and is denying me visitation. There is not any court ordered visitation because it has never been an issue prior. I am concerned about the effect this is taking on my daughters mental health going from seeing her daily to not at all. (When i was arrested i served 32 days in custody) It negatively affected her, she has developed some separation anxiety. Where do i go from here?

A: File a custody petition in your county against your mother for return of the child.
