Seattle, WA asked in Workers' Compensation for Washington

Q: Looking for an attorney willing to go up against Boeing and their private insurer, Sedgewick.

Need someone who can help facilitate the dealings with Sedgewick, who is Boeing's private insurer, because they can't seem to get things right on a case that has been going on for 10+ years. Had 5 foot surgeries 10+ years ago. Finally got fixed with 5th one. About 1-1/2 years ago, re-opened my claim to have surgery again because of the first surgeries. Got that fixed. Then the doctor said I should have another surgery because I have extreme pain in my foot from my big toe sticking so far out to the left. Now, doctor back tracks and says I can live with it. Paperwork is denied because it says left foot instead of right foot. I work graveyard, and they know that, but they won't accommodate with appointments after 1pm because I sleep from 6:30am-1pm. Sedgewick won't return calls or they return calls and then don't answer when I call back. I don't know what else to do. Do I give up and just live with the pain or do I have a legitimate case?

A: I'm sorry for your frustrating ordeal. Maybe the best thing to do at this point would be to start looking up workers' comp attorneys in the Seattle area (if that's where you are, based on being employed by Boeing). Many of them provide free initial consults. You could look up attorneys here in the Find a Lawyer section and you could conduct your own independent searches on the Internet. Don't lose further time waiting for a response; workers' comp is governed by strict timelines. Good luck
