A: To be valid, all the statutory requirements must be followed for a mechanic's lien. That can include delivering a Notice of Furnishing and Notice of Commencement, posting a copy of a Notice of Commencement, providing copies when requested, recording the lien affidavit within the time deadline, and delivering a copy to the owner. Use the Find a Lawyer tab to retain a local real estate attorney to review the proper lien filing process.
