A: There are many reasons why people fail to appear for court: honestly forgot or mistake with the date; but sometimes there are internal errors, such as the court forgot to enter the date or entered the wrong date. The Courts in Ohio seem to understand that mistakes happen and sometimes the mistakes are the fault of the police or court. So, to ensure that people are not arrested and jailed for mistakes they have worked this internal warrant fail-safe into their system. The police know that they need to confirm with you, the courts, to determine if there is a mistake before arresting you. It's a bureaucratic check. IF you are concerned head down to your local courthouse, or the courthouse you suspect the problem may be at and ask them to check.
