Q: im going through a domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon case that was a total accident. can i be charged ?

my ex and i got into an argument one night and my ex slapped me across the face. i picked up a baseball bat and hit the cat house we had in living room but didnt realize she was stanfmding right behind me and on the follow through hit her in side of the head. i called 911 and i ended up going to jail. ive had multiple court appearances pushed back and now im being offered a plea bargain but i feel im innocent what do i do? i have a public defender
