Q: My rights as a mother?
My ex husband and I have been separated for four years. He left me when I was 6 months pregnant. We have a four year old son together he hasn’t seen him since he was a month old. I have made several attempts for him to see him. After 4 years of having nothing to do with our son he decides he wants to be a father but two months ago he told me he wants to give up his rights.
A: Most courts won’t let him terminate his rights unless there is someone to adopt him. You can pursue visitation and child support or forego it, whichever you choose. You are in complete control.
