Phoenix, AZ asked in Personal Injury for Arizona

Q: What evidence is needed to prove that a concussion occurred from an mva? Do I have to get an MRI or a CT scan?

Is there any test other than one done by a neurologist that will prove I have a concussion?

A: It would generally be based on patient symptoms and physician findings. MRIs and CTs are admissible as evidence. But such diagnostic imaging studies are not the call of an attorney; they are the call of the treating physician, based on symptoms. That is something your physician would decide. Here is a link to a page from the Mayo Clinic's website: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/concussion/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20355600.

It covers the topic very briefly, but touches upon issues you ask about - neurological examination, cognitive testing, and imaging tests. Your physician could offer you meaningful input on this subject, not generally an attorney (who is not a medical professional in most cases). Attorneys only use the findings of your treating physicians to formulate arguments on your behalf - they cannot render medical opinions. Good luck
