Q: how to request to have case hear to remove interest. Child support paid in full

A: Interest is a statutory right if the child support was not paid on time. You may be able to file a motion to determine the arrears and/or make an offer to the other parent for a lump sum payoff.

A: If the child has reached the age of 18 (or if the judgement requires you to pay till high school graduation and the child has graduated) and there are no arrears outstanding, you should be able to terminate automatically. If there is an Income withholding Order that you are still under or if the Department of Revenue is not releasing you from the order, you can file a motion for the court to terminate child support and seek reimbursement of extra payments made.
