A: Consider this hypothetical situation:

Joe had a right to walk around free until he got in a bar fight, was convicted of Assault, and sentenced to jail. A judge decided NOT to lock Joe up and instead put him on community supervision probation with a condition that Joe stays out of all bars for 2 years. Were Joe's rights violated?

No. The judge may impose any reasonable condition of probation that is designed to protect or restore the community, protect or restore the victim, or punish, rehabilitate, or reform the defendant. See Article 42A.301 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
