A: You commit perjury which is a Federal crime if you knowingly withhold a fact when requested. You also disqualify yourself, because hiding an arrest is a material misrepresentation according to the USCIS. This can result in denial and an actual reason to disqualify you. Your fears are more of a challenge as well as an expungement, which can mess up your chances for immigration.

I strongly recommend an appointment with a competent and experienced immigration attorney before there are any other complications. I also believe that you need an attorney to prepare and document the situation. This is complicated, but will be more complicated when your arrest is discovered on your FBI record; usually, all state arrests are reported to state police who provide access to the FBI.
