Q: My son live in alabama with his mother. I live in indiana and support is enforced through indiana courts. The mother

Is continuously spending his support on herself and her other kids. I buy clothes , medical insurance and am constantly being asked for more money for his needs. I dont mind paying for what he needs but this expense should be majoritly covered by support. Is there any alabama laws regarding how she can spend his support money?

A: Hello. The short answer to your questions is no. My question to you is, if you are paying child support, why are you still giving mom money? Do you give it directly to your child? Do you pay the money for his "needs" directly to the place asking for it? e.g. the soccer club, football team, doctor, school? If you're just handing additional money over to mom, maybe you should try a different approach. She will either stop asking, or you can pay the "extra" money directly to the entities asking for it. Keep your payment records. Thanks for your question and best of luck!
