Q: What's going on with the new H1B1 lottery in March? Is registration suspended or do we have to just do the paperwork?
We've heard conflicting info that there is a lottery that the software has been rolled out, but also that they said they're postponing the lottery due to the software. Should we just focus on doing the regular paperwork or wait for the new lottery?
A:
The registration period for FY2021 H-1B cap subject petitions will begin on March 1, 2020 and interested employers should electronically register and pay the $10 fee. USCIS intends to notify registrants no later than March 31, 2020 if the case has been Selected, Not Selected, or Denied.
USCIS will post step-by step instructions on its website as the initial registration period nears.
