A: It depends on the goal you would like to achieve. If your divorce decree grants you custody of the children and your ex-husband set visitation, then there really isn't anyway to force him to spend time with the children. The court will not make him use his visitation. No court is going to force a father who doesn't want to see his kids to see his kids.

If, however, your goal is to eliminate his court ordered right to visits with the kids, that is something you can ask the court for. If he has failed to exercise his time and has made no effort to interact with the kids, then you can petition the court to modify its order to reduce or eliminate his court ordered time so he does not simply show up one day after 4 years and take the kids for his time.

I suggest speaking with a family law attorney to discuss all of your options.
