A: If you and your potential spouse are eligible, you can get a marriage license in any county at the local register of Deeds office and use it in any North Carolina county within 60 days of it being issued. The officiant must sign it and turn it in within 10 days of the ceremony where it was issued. So to keep things simple, you should likely get the license in the county where the ceremony is going to take place.
