Vancouver, WA asked in Traffic Tickets for Washington

Q: I got a ticket for expired tags in February. And I still need to pay it but everything is shut down now.

My dog literally ate my ticket with all the information on it. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do especially with everything shutdown because of COVID 19.

A: Contact the district court closest to where you received the ticket by telephone Monday morning. The clerk will run your name and birthday and check your record. You can pay online to all courts. You also may wish to contact DOL at 360 902 3900 option 6 to check the status of your driver license. Good luck!

A: You can call your county district court and they can look it up for you. Courts aren't shut down, but many have limited hours. If you were stopped in a city by a city police officer, you might want to try the municipal court.

Make sure you act quickly, after 15 days the court can enter a default against you and send the fine to collections.
