Q: can my landlord charge a late fee if i have the money on a day i was given to have it?
I made a partial payment and was told to have the rest on april 9 i vae the money when i called to pay it i got no answer and theres a letter on my door stating ill be charged a late fee now

A: So, based on your facts you did not in fact get the money to them by the date they gave you to pay it? Calling and them not answering is simply not sufficient effort to get them the money. Unfortunately, you should have moved mountains to try and make sure they received payment by that date. Without more facts, it appears you are responsible for the late payment.
