A: It's not too late. Whether the police take action is up to them.

If this happened at work, and you were injured, you have a workers compensation claim, and/or a personal injury claim. If this happened outside of work, then it would be a personal injury claim, but since assault is not generally covered by insurance, it would be hard to recover in a personal injury action.
