El Paso, TX asked in Car Accidents for Texas

Q: Here is a tough one... Involved in a automobile accident...went to help a friend, who's car had broke down

120 miles from nearest town, I used my tow bar and it was secured proper...while pulling the car home, the car being towed had two blowouts on the same side, causing both vehicles to roll...both vehicles were totaled, both vehicles only contained liability insurance... would the car being towed that had the blowouts, liability insurance be available to repair my vehicle? Or would my vehicle liability insurance be available to repair his car???

Please help!

A: It could depend on what the respective carriers for each car determine as the root cause of the accident. They will probably investigate towing equipment, speed at which the tow was made, condition of those two tires that blew out if they didn't disintegrate, and other factors. It's difficult to predict what the carriers will do. It's a unique situation and could take some time for a decision to be made.
