Afford a lawyer.. I’m a single mom and this guy hit my car last year on March 23, 2019.. he has no insurance and the police gave him 3 tickets and my car wasn’t even two years old it was new was at total loss... my insurance paid some for the car and I had a gap to cover paying the car and I’m left with 5k to pay on a total loss car and had to pay 2k out of my pocket to get me a new car which I shouldn’t have to. I would like to sue that guy to pay for that 5k remaining left on that car and 2k as well.. I had a very bad fractured wrist had physical therapy for 3 months.. I’m hearing impaired and it was hard cuz sign language is my language.. can you please let me know who I can contact to sue for settlement?? Although you mention the other side did not have insurance, depending on how the paperwork was handled back in March 2019 and how notices were provided, you should explore whether you still have the basis for an uninsured motorist claim through your own carrier.
It is up to you to discuss and verify the payment terms of attorneys you consult with. I am not saying you are guaranteed to have the matter handled on a contingency basis. It is up to you to ascertain how a prospective attorney will expect to be paid.
