Laredo, TX asked in Personal Injury for Texas

Q: If my apartment complex owners hired council before they’ve been served could it mean they want to settle?

I had a question and wanted to get your opinion on it. I found mold in my apartment complex about two months ago and it damaged over $19K worth of stuff and affected me and my family health wise. We’ve been going back and forth with my the apartments insurance company and I finally decided to file a lawsuit. They have not been served but have already obtained council specifically for this. Could this mean they want to settle?

A: No. More likely than not, if they were to settle this can be done by the adjuster without the insurance company having to incur the added expense of counsel. Hire legal counsel as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
