Q: If a neighbors dog breaks into my backyard and kills my emotional support dog, What am I entitled to?

I have the report from animal control stating the incident occurred In my backyard. The gates were closed.

A: You may be entitled to the reasonable fair market value of your property, i.e., what would it take to purchase a dog of similar age, breed, gender, health. You are not entitled to emotional distress damages.

A: You may also be entitled to "loss of use" which is the reasonable daily rental value of the property. This is difficult to measure for a pet, but it is an element of property damage loss in general.
