First and foremost, is that information printed completely? Most legitimate companies print checks through their accounting software. Second, is that information accurate? Google the company. Does the phone number area code match the city or town the company is in? Is the ZIP Code accurate? Is the listed bank in the same state or area as the company? Many somewhat amateur attempts to pass bad checks involve mistakes in those details: they may have a Detroit address but a 616 area code or a 49### ZIP Code, which doesn't add up.
