Q: Statute of limitation

can the owner of the car sue me after 9 months after accident?

A: It's possible they could. But you don't mention which state this takes place in. Regardless, 9 months would be within the statute of limitations of most any state. Nationwide, these differ from state to state. Many of the statutes of limitations run in the two-year to three-year range (with some states being longer and maybe one state being shorter). If you're being sued, make copies of the papers you were served with and turn them over to your insurance carrier without delay. Good luck
