A: Start with an architect familiar with the local building and zoning code and the process to consolidate the lots, which will require a surveyor to prepare a consolidation plat. The architect can also talk to the local health dept. about the septic system requirements. Use the Find a Lawyer tab to retain a local real estate attorney to prepare the consolidation deed that will be necessary to be able to get the building permit.
