Q: If my accident Medical paid $25.000 towards my Hospital Bills & put a lien for $8,514.84 on My Judgement, of $25.000 l

$25.000 left for pain & suffering. Can i despute this?

A: You need to restate your question in terms that we can understand. A "judgment" can ONLY be rendered by a Court. If you really mean a "Judgment" of $25,000.00, you have an attorney and should discuss this with him/her.

Insurance companies CANNOT Lien anything. They can and nearly always do claim subrogation interests when they pay your bills. If your insurance company paid $25,000.00, they would have a subrogation interest in the amount of $25,000.00. It is possible that the hospital sent you a bill for $25,000 and your group health insurance had an agreement to pay the hospital $8,514.84 to get the bill paid in full. Now your group health insurance carrier wants repayment of $8,514.84 and they are entitled to it but it is NOT a lien. If you hire an attorney, they cannot make you pay more than $5,676.56.Unrepresented, you owe $8,514.84.
