Washington, DC asked in Civil Litigation for Virginia

Q: Virginia DCSE has been lethargic communicating with my bank and a double seizure of funds is unresolved. Can I sue?

I owed $5,000 and deposited $10,000 from an insurance claim. Virginia DCSE sent a seizure order to my bank. The bank held the funds but didn’t respond so DCSE sent ANOTHER seizure order. My bank told me they need Virginia Department of Child Support Enforcement to fax or email them notification to process the 1st order and cancel the 2nd order as they are duplicates not separate seizure orders. But the Virginia Department of a Child Support Enforcement refuses to send this notification. I’ve spoken with numerous customer service reps who tell me the caseworker will contact me in 3 business days...(no one has co tasted me). I’ve was told that since no case worker has responded to my requests to speak with someone a supervisor will contact me in 3 business days...(no one has contacted me). So it’s been weeks and I’ve essentially had $5,000 stolen from me and the state agency that can resolve the issue refuses to do so.

I’m looking to sue.

A: I regret that I do not handle child support matters or DCSE matters. Sorry.
