Sacramento, CA asked in Animal / Dog Law for California

Q: What do I do please help ..... Puppy has parvo, free vet tricked me to sign my rights away... Need dog back

my baby was taken from me to be treated by a free vet for parvo. I was not able to afford the cost of treatment which I was told it could be up to 1500 dollars a day to hospitalize them for up to two weeks and still no guarantee they will pull through. Since this is a free program and the rate of survival is so low with parvo they can't treat every dog, i understand that. So in an emotional crying event I was asked to sign a paper which was explained to me as to giving the vet the right to decide if the puppy was saveable or should they put the puppy down and end its sickness. I signed a complete blubbering mess as to this is my fur baby I had just gotten for my bf and I and ge passed away a few weeks after we got her. I kept in contact with the vet and they decided to treat journi and she pulled through. They even gave me updates and pictures. However now they are saying I signed over my rights of ownership. WTF! I NEVER EVEN GOT A COPY OF THE PAPER I SIGNED!

A: Ask for a copy of the document, or go in to read it. If you signed away your dog, as they say, it's over.
