A: A Louisiana attorney could answer best, but your question remains open for two weeks. Make your initial request to the doctor who performed your surgery. Although they may be affiliated with the hospital, they probably maintain their own separate records and billing information. But you could additionally check with the hospital administration for any separate records that might not be part of your surgeon's file (anesthesiology, radiology, etc.) Those entities probably provided your surgeon with those records anyway, but you'll cover all your bases by checking with both your surgeon and the hospital. You should also be receiving EOBs (explanation of benefits) from your insurance company that should outline procedures and charges line-by-line. Good luck
