Winter Park, FL asked in Child Support for Florida

Q: Can the court modify the payments based on motion to contest driver’s license suspension?

My ex filled the motion to contest driver’s license suspension, I haven't received any papers yet, but I suspect he will try to lower the child support amount. Can the court modify the payment based on motion to contest the license suspension if the motion to modify the amount wasn't filled? If the court will decide to lower the amount what will be the effective date - the date the motion to contest the suspension was filled or the date the motion to modify the payment filled? If the second then I have more time to find the lawyer and money for that until my ex will fill the motion to modify. But if it can be lowered based on the motion to contest the suspension, then I need to act now. Thank you for your advise in advance!

A: The chances are that the court will treat the motion to contest as also a motion to modify.
