Q: How to explain a conviction of disruptive intoxication and dismissed charge of obstruction of legal process to USCIS?
I took an Alford plea for disruptive intoxication and the sentencing was a one year unsupervised probation which ends in 6 months from now. There was an additional charge for obstruction of legal process that was dismissed. I am applying for reinstatement to my F1 student visa and have to explain to USCIS in my form of any conviction I have since I last entered US. How do I explain this situation? What are some things I must keep in mind? Thank you.
