A: Thanks for your question! I would suggest that you reach out to a local attorney in your area so the attorney can review your lease, ask you questions about what the background situation is, and give you advice as to how to proceed.

You would most likely have to proceed in small claims court, which you could pursue either pro se (without an attorney) or retain an attorney to represent you. Hopefully, you would be able to work out something with the landlord before suing, though, as it'd cost more to sue than the cost of your sawing machine, unfortunately.

Again, a lot hinges on what has occurred factually and what the lease says.
