A: You are free to file for divorce in any state where you can meet the state requirements for divorce. The only requirement for a divorce in Nevada is that you or your spouse have lived in the state for at least six weeks prior to filing your divorce. You have the right to begin the process at any time, with or without your spouse’s knowledge or approval.
