Q: Hello. I'm in Michigan and I was wondering if my only car can be seized if there is a judgment against me.
My husband and I have several judgments against us for credit card debt. Two creditors have put liens on our house (which we own) and three have garnished our state tax returns. One garnished one of our bank accounts. I cannot pay these debts back at the current time, especially now, and my main fear is that they'll take my car. We have one 10 year old truck that is our only mode of transportation. No additional cars, no boats, no RVs, nothing like that. Thank you!
