Q: Is it possible to leave home if I’m being caused severe anxiety?
I’m 16 years old and my mom induces severe anxiety and stress every time I’m around her. My parents are divorced and I live with her. She does not listen to me when I try to explain myself to her, and will usually resort to screaming and threatening. She also in the past has psychologically affected my older brother. Is there anything I can do?
A: Seek emancipation from the court, which is unlikely. Otherwise, plan to move as soon as you turn 18.
