Springfield, GA asked in Uncategorized for Florida

Q: My mother passed and her property was granted to her surviving child. My sibling agreed to pay the taxes on the house.

He has demolished the inside of the house and made it inhabitable. We can not agree on anything and he will not meet with the realtor or give me access to the property. I had to pay the taxes for the past three years because he did not. He was three years behind. What are my options? Can I take the house? I have called lawyers and they will not answer the question unless I pay or are not returning my call.

A: Evidently the house is in Florida and you are in Georgia. Consult with an attorney where the house is located; a Georgia attorney cannot represent you in Florida litigation.
