Cumming, GA asked in Immigration Law for Georgia

Q: Hi I got an email from uscis what does it means (I didn't get an rfe by mail)

Thank you for your inquiry dated April 28, 2021.

Regarding your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

USCIS records indicate that we are awaiting your response to our Request for Evidence (RFE) on this case. Your case is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your response.

If you do not have access to your USCIS online filing system account, you may mail your evidence to the service center processing your case. Be sure to include your name, A-number, and receipt number on every document that you submit, and include a copy of the RFE. You may mail your evidence to the address listed in the upper right hand corner of the RFE.

We encourage you to respond to the RFE notice by the response deadline. Regulations do not provide for an extension of time to respond to our notice. Failure to respond to the RFE by the response deadline may result in the denial of your application.

A: Immediately respond that you did not get the RFE in the mail and you did not change your address. Ask them to resend it to you. It is a time sensitive document that tells you that you have to respond by a certain date.

A: I would recommend you call USCIS to let them know that you did not receive the RFE, find out when the deadline is and request for them to resend the RFE. If the deadline is very soon ask the USCIS agent what can be done since you may not even get the resent RFE in time to respond. If the agent is not able to help you, contact an immigration attorney asap! Best wishes!
