Asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Kentucky

Q: What exactly are my right as a mother when my children are in foster care?

It's been going on two years since I have been able to see my children. I feel like me and my children have been done wrong from the start when it comes to the entire case. I was refused any worker I was refused a transfer in my case. My children were removed from me because they said I was being incompliant when I was in able to go to my very first drug test. 2 days later in court I had passed a hair follicle completely clean. My visitation day and time was changed and I was not notified. I have been hung up on by the social worker. Or just flat-out ignored and questions not answered repeatedly. Now I'm giving the toys to voluntarily sign my rights over to my kids or have them involuntarily taken in which if they are involuntarily taken I would never again be able to have children in my custody

A: You should hire a lawyer to defend you in the termination action. There are far too many possibilities and variables that are involved to cover here, but if you voluntarily terminate your rights, you will likely lose them forever.
