Sacramento, CA asked in Personal Injury for California

Q: Typically how long does it take to be paid out from an insurance company?

A car hit the wall of a store where i was painting inside at and im just wondering how long typically it would take to settle with the drivers insurance company?

I did hire an attorney and the procedure i was told would happen isnt exactly the way it has went so far. I was told before submitying a demand letter to the insuurance company that id be told the figure which i wasnt. Instesd i was told a date that they would have the answer the insurance company responded with and now the date has come and gone and ive been told nothing?. I called and was told to try back in a couple weeks? I contacted tgem and let them know that due to a petsonal emergency i needed to settle immediatly but it seems im getting the back hurner still?

A: MORE INFO NEEDED

THERE IS NO EXACT ANSWER WITH LAW AND AT DIFFERENT TIMES THE CASES ARE EITHER EASIER OR HARDER TO SETTLE.

SINCE COVID IT HAS BEEN VERY CHALLENGING TO RESOLVE CASES......AND IF AN INS CO KNOWS YOU WANT TO SETTLE THEY WILL OFFER AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT.

IF YOU WERE WORKING, ISN'T IT ALSO A WORKERS COMP CASE?

A: I agree with Mr. Grabow. Understand companies base your case on the medical records, what they say. You stop seeing a doctor or you only tell the doctor 3 out of 7 things, they will say "doesn't look like much."

A: You need to ask your attorney what the hold is. I know that in all my cases the insurance companies are the ones slowing down the settlements. They want to hold their money as long as possible.
