Q: How did the judge change his summary judgement where I was not a defendant to me becoming a co-defendant and liable?
Not on any lease for the apartment complex with no signed documents with them I had moved in to help the lease holder financially two plus years ago with him leaving town shortly after I continued to pay the rent and utilities for over 20 months no issue but late once COVID hit. Was to get assistance from the VA but name was required for payment to take place yet the leasing agents refused me being added and complete payment to become current. I attended the trial which he was absent when asked to put a statement on an Answer of Defendant form with the judge stating numerous times of not being held responsible with no legal documents ever being signed with Dispossessory taking place shortly after trial was completed with the judge again saying zero liability to ever happen for me in summary judgement. The final order was sent to me via email with me now being named a co-defendant as well as solely financially responsible by law? I was not informed of these actions prior to trial!
A: Honestly, there are too many moving parts in your situation. It would be best for you to sit down with an attorney to discuss the problems you have individually and more specifically.
