Q: Are there centers that deal with holding the visitation. I have guardianship of my baby sister.
The mother is also my mother, and when I ask for them to for example not put their mouth in babies mouth for health concerns, they steam roll over me saying they’re the parents and they can do what they want, but they aren’t even deemed safe by the dhs. Court order says they are allowed supervised visitation when in Oklahoma county. I am also pregnant and the stress from how hateful they are to me and refusing to cooperate with safety concerns is taking a toll on me.
A: You could request that visits be supervised by someone else in the family or request that a neutral third party act as supervisor.
A: As my colleague stated you can always request a neutral third party to be the supervisor. However, while they are technically correct that they are the parent, there is a reason the guardianship was put in place and it is your job to protect the best interest of the child. You may also try to get it set up with a court-supervisor. These have expenses associated with them however it also slows you to not have to be present and know that the child’s best interest is being taken into account in al aspects, also it limits the times to reasonable times.
