Painesville, OH asked in Car Accidents for Ohio

Q: Who’s fault was it in the Accident?

I was in an accident yesterday when I was on my way to get blood results from my doctor and then to work. I was on the freeway when it happened I turned my blinker on to get in the left lane when I looked nobody was there so I started to get over next thing I know a car came up behind me and side swiped my vehicle so I went into the truck stopped and waved them over from off the free way. I got out of the car to see if everyone is ok and then we exchanged information. By the time the state police man showed up I wrote down the statement and waited he took my information and pictures. Then the couple had left and he tells me he smelled weed I told him I did to when I got out the car I thought it was the couple well that’s when he asked if I can go into his car falsely accused me of the smell and did the pen following test on me but not them what should I do?

A: It sounds like you were at fault in the accident. When you change lanes it is on you to be sure no one is currently occupying that lane and this sounds like a classic blind spot mistake. As for the marijuana allegations and the sobriety testing, if you are charged with a drug offense or a DUI, you should be looking for a lawyer.
