Q: How long until I can apply for citizenship after being married to a United States citizen
I’ve married a US Citizen and I barely got my permanent resident card in July 2019
A:
Hello,
You can apply for your citizenship after three years of marriage.
Good luck
Nadine
A: You can submit the FORM N-400 with USCIS after you have been issued lawful permanent status and you have been married to a U.S. citizen for at least the period of 2 years and 9 months.
A: You may send in your application 3 months prior to three years provided you remain married. If you do not remain married you must wait the 5 years.
